Once again, Tecnargilla has proven to be a not-to-be-missed event for those who work in the international ceramics industry. The world´s leading fair for suppliers to the ceramics and brick industry, held in Rimini last week (27 September . 1 October), closed its doors with an outstanding turnout. The halls of the Rimini expo center were packed with 31,599 visitors (up 0.5% from 2008) who came to discover the latest technological and stylistic innovations, presented by the sector´s leading international suppliers.
There was a significant increase in international attendance, up 18.6% from the previous fair in 2008. Visitors from abroad numbered 14,603, accounting for over 46% of the total and showing Tecnargilla´s world leadership position among fairs in the sector. These top buyers and investors, representing the world´s most prominent manufacturers of ceramics and bricks, decided to ride the wave of recovery by equipping themselves with the finest technology available, and showed keen interest in the four exhibit sections of the fair: Tecnargilla, dedicated to the production of tiles, bathroom fixtures, and dishware; Claytech, specialized in technology for brick production; Kromatech, the section dedicated to aesthetics, colors, and raw materials in the ceramics field; and Kermat, focused on advanced ceramics.
´The public response to Tecnargilla,´ says Pietro Cassani, President of ACIMAC, ´once again shows that technological innovation is the only key to success in the marketplace. Exhibitors came to the fair with a wide array of new technology focused on technical and stylistic evolution, extreme automation, energy conservation and production flexibility´.
´Moreover,´ Cassani continued, ´the boom in foreign visitors demonstrates Tecnargilla´s success as a not-to-be-missed event for exhibitors and buyers who work in this sector´.
There was also high turnout among Italian trade visitors, who accounted for 54% of the total. The fair was attended by 16,996 technical professionals, production directors, product developers, marketing personnel, and business owners.
´Tecnargilla has once again achieved excellent results this year,´ adds Lorenzo Cagnoni, President of Rimini Fiera, ´due in part to the conviction, shared by ACIMAC, Rimini Fiera and the exhibitors, that this fair is the only event in the world capable of bringing together the finest technology for the ceramics and brick industry and the most highly qualified international buyers. The importance people gave to this event,´ Cagnoni explained, ´was also made evident by the painstaking care put into the booths, which were designed to convey a leadership role and the desire to keep serving the market as effectively as possible´.
The next Tecnargilla fair will be held in 2014.
